Desta forma, a ingest\u00e3o total de prote\u00ednas pode se encontrar prejudicada dependendo dessas vari\u00e1veis (1).<\/p>\n<p>As recomenda\u00e7\u00f5es diet\u00e9ticas publicadas pela Sociedade Brasileira de Medicina no Esporte (SBME) (2) indicam que a ingest\u00e3o di\u00e1ria de prote\u00ednas deve ser de 1,2 a 1,6 g\/Kg peso\/dia para praticantes de exerc\u00edcio de resist\u00eancia e at\u00e9 1,7 g\/Kg peso\/dia para aqueles que desejam o aumento de massa muscular. J\u00e1 o posicionamento da Sociedade Internacional de Nutri\u00e7\u00e3o Esportiva (ISSN) (3), considera uma ingest\u00e3o de at\u00e9 2 g\/Kg peso\/dia, segura e necess\u00e1ria, para atletas que buscam aumento de massa muscular. Apesar das recomenda\u00e7\u00f5es propostas por estas sociedades, tal assunto ainda \u00e9 pol\u00eamico na literatura cient\u00edfica, haja vista alguns autores apontarem que a ingest\u00e3o de prote\u00ednas acima destes valores pode ser eficaz (4) e segura (5).<\/p>\n<p>Para atingir tais recomenda\u00e7\u00f5es \u00e9 necess\u00e1ria a utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de fontes proteicas de alto valor biol\u00f3gico, como carnes, leite, ovos e soja, entretanto o consumo de tais alimentos pode ser consideravelmente alto, de acordo com a necessidade de cada atleta. Al\u00e9m deste fator, outro aspecto que recebe destaque em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 necessidade proteica \u00e9 o tempo de digest\u00e3o e absor\u00e7\u00e3o dos nutrientes, interferindo em sua disponibilidade e tempo de libera\u00e7\u00e3o sangu\u00ednea, denominado <em>\u201cnutrient timing\u201d (6). <\/em>Neste contexto, alguns suplementos proteicos foram desenvolvidos com o intuito de otimizar tais necessidades de digest\u00e3o e absor\u00e7\u00e3o, s\u00e3o eles as prote\u00ednas hidrolisadas e os amino\u00e1cidos livres.<\/p>\n<p>Estes suplementos apresentam maior velocidade de digest\u00e3o e absor\u00e7\u00e3o e possuem libera\u00e7\u00e3o mais r\u00e1pida na corrente sangu\u00ednea. Em algumas situa\u00e7\u00f5es, tal rapidez poderia promover benef\u00edcios, como durante exerc\u00edcios de <em>endurance,<\/em> que em associa\u00e7\u00e3o ao carboidratoauxiliaria na recupera\u00e7\u00e3o, ou p\u00f3s-treinamento de for\u00e7a, per\u00edodo denominado <em>\u201cjanela de oportunidades\u201d, <\/em>aumentando a s\u00edntese proteica muscular (7)<em>. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Apesar dos fortes ind\u00edcios fisiol\u00f3gicos de que tais suplementos poderiam promover benef\u00edcios, os estudos ainda s\u00e3o controversos. \u00a0Um estudo recente (8) comparou a suplementa\u00e7\u00e3o de Whey Protein hidrolisado com Whey Protein concentrado e placebo. N\u00e3o houve diferen\u00e7a entre desempenho, ganho de massa muscular e for\u00e7a entre os dois grupos, apenas uma diminui\u00e7\u00e3o do percentual de gordura no grupo Whey Protein hidrolisado quando comparado com o grupo placebo (30 g de carboidrato). Uma recente metan\u00e1lise que avaliou idosos, os quais poderiam se beneficiar de amino\u00e1cidos livres devido \u00e0 baixa digestibilidade, n\u00e3o demonstrou diferen\u00e7as significativas entre a suplementa\u00e7\u00e3o de prote\u00ednas e amino\u00e1cidos em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao aumento de massa magra e for\u00e7a (9).<\/p>\n<p>Apesar dos estudos apontarem n\u00e3o haver diferen\u00e7as significativas entre a suplementa\u00e7\u00e3o de prote\u00ednas e amino\u00e1cidos livres (mix de amino\u00e1cidos essenciais), no que diz respeito ao aumento de massa muscular e for\u00e7a, a utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de amino\u00e1cidos livres espec\u00edficos pode ser ben\u00e9fica. Muitos estudos apontam que a suplementa\u00e7\u00e3o de amino\u00e1cidos de cadeia ramificada (BCAAs), leucina, glutamina, arginina, entre outros, pode apresentar benef\u00edcios na s\u00edntese proteica muscular, recupera\u00e7\u00e3o e fortalecimento do sistema imunol\u00f3gico (10). A ISSN e a SBME apontam que os estudos com BCAAs e desempenho ainda s\u00e3o controversos e n\u00e3o h\u00e1 evid\u00eancias cient\u00edficas e ensaios cl\u00ednicos que demonstrem seu benef\u00edcio. Entretanto, alguns trabalhos relatam os benef\u00edcios da suplementa\u00e7\u00e3o de BCAAs para atletas. Alguns estudos demonstram que os BCAAs podem atuar no aumento da s\u00edntese proteica (11, 12, 13); outros demonstram que estes amino\u00e1cidos teriam um papel anticatab\u00f3lico (14,15) e de recupera\u00e7\u00e3o, revertendo a imunodepress\u00e3o causada por exerc\u00edcios de longa dura\u00e7\u00e3o (16,17).<\/p>\n<p>Em rela\u00e7\u00e3o aos demais amino\u00e1cidos, a literatura ainda carece de estudos como meta an\u00e1lises, diretrizes e consensos que apontem as reais necessidades e utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o dos mesmos (2,3).<\/p>\n<p>Profa.
