Por exemplo, a massa muscular \u00e9 um componente-chave no diagn\u00f3stico da <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nutritotal.com.br\/pro\/material\/sarcopenia-novo-consenso-global-estabelece-definicao-conceitual-da-doenca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sarcopenia<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> e da desnutri\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Existem muitas ferramentas sofisticadas de avalia\u00e7\u00e3o da massa e da qualidade muscular, como bioimped\u00e2ncia el\u00e9trica, DEXA, tomografia computadorizada, resson\u00e2ncia magn\u00e9tica e ultrassom. No entanto, a falta de valores normativos ao longo das idades dificulta sua avalia\u00e7\u00e3o pr\u00e1tica.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nesse cen\u00e1rio, um estudo teve como objetivo produzir valores percentuais e normativos transversais para a circunfer\u00eancia da panturrilha em um amplo espectro de idades, utilizando uma amostra grande de moradores da comunidade inscritos no projeto <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Longevity Check-up 7+<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Lookup 7+).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mais_de_11_mil_participantes\"><\/span><b>Mais de 11 mil participantes\u00a0<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Os dados utilizados no estudo foram extra\u00eddos do projeto <\/span><b><i>Longevity Check-up 7+<\/i><\/b><b> (Lookup 7+)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, uma iniciativa promovida pela <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Universit\u00e0 Cattolica del Sacro Cuore<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Roma, It\u00e1lia). O projeto, que durou de 2015 a 2022, foi conduzido em ambientes n\u00e3o convencionais (exposi\u00e7\u00f5es, shoppings e campanhas de promo\u00e7\u00e3o da sa\u00fade).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Os pesquisadores recrutaram indiv\u00edduos a partir dos 45 anos de idade, sendo esta a idade que evid\u00eancias cient\u00edficas anteriores demonstraram ser o in\u00edcio do decl\u00ednio da massa muscular. Assim, um total de <\/span><b>11.814 participantes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> foram inclu\u00eddos, com idade m\u00e9dia de 61.8 anos, e 57% do sexo feminino.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A circunfer\u00eancia da panturrilha foi medida usando uma fita pl\u00e1stica inextens\u00edvel, por\u00e9m flex\u00edvel, na posi\u00e7\u00e3o sentada, com o joelho e o tornozelo em \u00e2ngulo reto e os p\u00e9s apoiados no ch\u00e3o. Assim, mediu-se a CP no ponto de circunfer\u00eancia m\u00e1xima em um plano perpendicular ao longo do eixo da panturrilha direita.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" 400;\"> Para todas as faixas et\u00e1rias, a circunfer\u00eancia da panturrilha dos homens foi sempre maior do que a das mulheres.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tais dados representam um avan\u00e7o na avalia\u00e7\u00e3o antropom\u00e9trica da massa muscular. Os pontos de corte anteriormente n\u00e3o eram espec\u00edficos para g\u00eanero nem estratificados por idade.
